Engineer Mohiuddin Ahmed, the new Chairman of BTRC
Engineer Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed has been appointed as the new Chairman from the position of Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission-BTRC. He is replacing the recently departed Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder for the completion of his term.
By order of the President, this appointment letter was issued on November 11 by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Ashraful Alam.
According to the employment contract, as per the sections 7 and 9 of Bangladesh Telecommunication Act 2001, Engineer Mohiuddin Ahmed will take up new duties from December 14 and likely to serve till May 29, 2025.
Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed was appointed as Vice President of BTRC in November 2022. Earlier, he served as Commissioner of Engineering and Operations Division of the regulatory body. The outgoing Chairman of BTRC Shyam Sundar Sikdar welcomed this talented engineer as the Vice Chairman on November 1, 2022 with floral greetings and congratulations.
Engineer Mohiuddin Ahmed joined BTRC on May 30, 2019 as Commissioner of Engineering and Operations Department. He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. He also has long experience of working in multinational organizations abroad.
